Whitney’s Back!!
No one can deny that Whitney Houston is one of great female singers of all time. Her songs are classic and when others sing them, they may do a excellent job, but nobody can do it better than her!
Whitney has had more than her fair share of ups and downs. She dealt with drug abuse which she denied in interviews. Her most famous line being “Crack is Whack” which appeared over and over on TV shows because of its awkward nature. She’s had a roller coaster relationship with husband Bobby Brown, in which many people believed he played a big part in destroying the singer’s sweet and innocent image. They documented their personal lives on a reality TV show to try and show the world that their relationship was like any other, but it only made their lives seem even more ridiculous and weird. With an on and off relationship they finally divorced for good in 2007.
With all that behind her, Whitney is back to the reason we all fell in love her, singing! She looked confident and happy at her listening party the past Tuesday for her new album, “I Look to You” to be released on Sept. 1st. She gave her star-studded audience a sneak preview performance of nine of the songs on her album. She told the crowd, “It took us three-and-a-half years to reach this point” of completing this project as she worked with her long-time producer Clive Davis.
One of her songs titled “Million Dollar Bill”, written by Alicia Keys and Swizz Beats, is said to be a great ‘feel good song’. Other songs on the album are said to remind us of the Whitney ballads of old, which were written by R. Kelly and Diane Warren. She also throws in a little island flavor from her collaboration song with Akon.
Her fans are highly anticipating this new album and anxiously waiting to get back to the Whitney we all know and love. We hope that it is a success and that she continues move in positive direction in the future in both her career and personal life.
